Madrid, Spain – Barcelona president Joan Laporta expressed his great admiration for the United Arab Emirates, praising its stability, progress and clear vision for the future.
Laporta, who recently returned to lead the Catalan club for a third term, said in a video posted by Emirati sports commentator Ali Saeed Al Kaabi: “I welcome all the people of the UAE. I have had the honor of visiting your country on several occasions. I would like to express my love and respect for the UAE and its people”.
He added: “These visits have left a deep impression on me, due to the great sense of security, hospitality, and warm welcome I experienced, which are truly remarkable things”.
The Barcelona president affirmed that the UAE represents a unique model of a nation with a clear vision and a strong will to continue progressing, noting that it looks to the future with confidence and ambition.
He also mentioned what he heard from his friends living there about the nature of daily life, emphasizing that calm and stability remain key characteristics despite regional challenges, reflecting the strength and unity of the community.
Laporta explained that these qualities closely resemble the principles of football. True strength is demonstrated in the ability to remain composed and calm under pressure, not just during periods of rest.
He concluded his remarks by saying: “The UAE embodies the qualities of a great team; it is a country that grows stronger in the face of challenges. From the heart of Barcelona, I send my sincere appreciation and full support.”
