Berlin, Germany – Liverpool FC has begun a serious search for a replacement for star player Mohamed Salah, as his time with the team nears its end at the conclusion of the current season. This comes after a nine-year career at Anfield.
According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, RB Leipzig’s young Ivorian winger Yann Diomande is emerging as a leading candidate to replace Salah, having made the shortlist of candidates.
Plettenberg indicated that Liverpool’s management is engaged in intensive behind-the-scenes discussions regarding several potential signings. However, Diomande is attracting particular interest due to his technical abilities and young age.
Leipzig value their 19-year-old player at around £100 million, which represents the biggest challenge for clubs wishing to sign him during the upcoming transfer window.
Despite being linked with several major European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain, a move to the Bavarian club seems unlikely at the moment due to the high cost.
Diomande had a remarkable season with Leipzig, making 29 appearances across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 8 assists, thus confirming his status as a player attracting the attention of Europe’s top clubs.
