Madrid, Spain – Real Madrid will host Atletico Madrid on Sunday evening at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, as part of the 29th round of the Spanish League Championship.
Real Madrid, led by their coach Alvaro Arbeloa, will enter the match looking to achieve victory in order to continue chasing Barcelona, the league leader, who are four points ahead of the Royal team.
The team has recently received a morale boost with the return of Kylian Mbappé, who has recovered from a knee injury and made a substitute appearance against Manchester City in the Champions League. He is expected to start in the forward line alongside Vinicius Junior.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will be without goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who will be sidelined for several weeks with a muscle injury. This gives Andriy Lunin the opportunity to guard the team’s goal.
Eder Militao, Dani Ceballos, and Rodrygo remain sidelined with injuries, while Ferland Mendy and David Alaba are now fit and available for selection.
The training session also saw the full return of Jude Bellingham, who may be on the bench, pending the coaching staff’s decision.
Real Madrid’s expected lineup against Atletico Madrid:
Goalkeeper: Andriy Lunin.
Defense: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Antonio Rudiger, Dean Hoesen, Alvaro Carreras.
Midfield: Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouaméni, Fede Valverde, Arda Güler.
Attack: Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior.
