Liverpool, England – Liverpool manager Arne Slott spoke about the upcoming match against Brighton, in the 31st round of the English Premier League.
Liverpool are scheduled to visit Brighton at the Amex Stadium, in a match where the Reds will be looking to get back to winning ways.
Slot revealed Mohamed Salah’s stance on participating, after he suffered an injury during the Champions League match against Galatasaray, which he left affected by muscle pain that raised doubts about his readiness.
The Dutch coach said in comments reported by the Liverpool Echo: “Unusually, Salah has suffered an injury, and therefore he will not be available for tomorrow’s match”.
He added: “Liverpool are fortunate that we are entering the international break, but this is bad news for the Egyptian national team, as he will not be able to join the camp, and we hope that he recovers quickly as he usually does”.
Thus, Salah’s absence from the national team camp has been confirmed, as the team prepares to play two friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and Spain as part of its preparation program for the upcoming period.
In a related context, Slot commented on the player’s condition, saying: “Salah is taking good care of himself, and he has proven on more than one occasion his ability to return quickly, and there are only two weeks left before the matches resume”.
The Liverpool manager also addressed Joe Gomez’s situation, confirming that he may be available to play against Brighton, but not in the starting lineup.
Regarding Salah’s performance against Galatasaray, Slout explained: “He didn’t perform badly in the first half, and the team’s overall performance was good, which gives the players a chance to shine”.
He concluded by praising the Egyptian star’s mental strength, stressing that his experience and ability to handle pressure always make him present in crucial moments, whether by scoring or creating goals, which reflects his distinguished career with Liverpool.
