Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese Football Federation has announced the suspension of all sporting activities in Lebanon until the end of April, due to the current situation in the Middle East.
The Lebanese Football Federation explained in an official statement that the Executive Committee decided to suspend all competitions and activities until the end of April. A final decision regarding the resumption of activities will be made based on developments in the coming period.
The Lebanese Federation had previously announced the suspension of all its competitions and sports activities until further notice.
The Lebanese Football Association was not the only one to make this decision; the Kuwaiti Football Association had previously announced a similar move, amidst the repercussions of the regional situation.
The region’s sporting scene has also witnessed the postponement of several competitions, including Qatari league matches, due to the recent instability affecting various sporting activities.
At the continental level, the Asian Football Confederation decided to postpone all its matches, including the AFC Champions League Elite and AFC Champions League 2 tournaments, under the same circumstances.
