Rabat, Morocco – Walid Regragui officially announced on Thursday his departure from coaching the Moroccan national team, after a career that lasted about three and a half years at the helm of the Atlas Lions’ technical leadership.
Regragui confirmed that the decision to leave came after the termination of the contract by mutual consent between the two parties, thus putting an end to a successful period with the Moroccan national team that witnessed many achievements.

Despite the successes, Regragui was unable to lead Morocco to win the African Cup of Nations title, after losing the final in the last edition on home soil to Senegal by a score of 1-0.
