Madrid, Spain – There is growing concern within Real Madrid regarding the injury to their English star, Jude Bellingham. Bellingham sustained the injury during last week’s La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano.
Bellingham left the match early after suffering a muscle injury in the first ten minutes. This occurred after he lunged for the ball before suddenly stopping, clutching the back of his left thigh. The player collapsed to the ground, much to the concern of the coaching staff and fans.
Medical tests later announced by the club revealed that the player suffered a muscle tear in his left leg. Initial predictions suggest he will be sidelined for up to a month.
However, the Spanish network Onda Cero revealed that the absence could extend until next April. This comes as the player continues to suffer from pain and a slower-than-expected recovery. As a result, the concerns of the coaching staff, led by Álvaro Arbeloa, are growing.
Real Madrid are expected to be without their star player for several important matches, most notably the two Champions League round of 16 playoff matches against Benfica. The first leg will be played on February 14, while the return leg will take place on February 25 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
