Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Press reports have revealed new developments regarding the future of Egyptian international Mohamed Salah with the English team Liverpool.
According to the French network Foot Mercato, Liverpool’s management seems to have not yet moved past the crisis sparked by Mohamed Salah’s previous statements. This is evident from the club allowing his agent, Ramy Abbas, to continue negotiations regarding a possible transfer.
The network explained that Mohamed Salah’s agent is in talks with Saudi club Al-Ittihad. It noted that the 33-year-old player has become more open to the idea of moving to the Saudi league, unlike his stance last year.
She added that this scenario might satisfy all parties, as Liverpool would receive a financial compensation for selling the player, while Mohamed Salah would have the final say in determining his future.
It’s worth noting that Al-Ittihad lost several key players, most notably Frenchman Karim Benzema and Frenchman N’Golo Kanté, who moved to Al-Hilal and Fenerbahçe respectively during the last winter transfer window. Brazilian Fabinho’s contract also expires next June, while Moussa Diaby has been linked with a move to Inter Milan.
Accordingly, Al-Ittihad Jeddah is seeking to strengthen its ranks in order to maintain its competitiveness during the coming period, and signing Mohamed Salah is considered a major deal that has been long awaited within the club.
