Cairo, Egypt – Abdel Nasser Mohamed, the football director of Zamalek SC, revealed the reason for the absence of midfielder Abdullah Al-Saeed from the first team squad that will play the upcoming match against Zesco United of Zambia in the African Confederation Cup.
Zamalek will be hosted by Zesco United of Zambia next Sunday, as part of the fifth round of the group stage of the African Confederation Cup.
The football director confirmed in statements to the Zamalek Club Media Center that Abdullah Al-Saeed is suffering from a cold and a high temperature, which prompted the technical staff to exclude him from the squad traveling to play the match.
Abdel Nasser Mohamed added that Brazilian Juan Bezerra is absent from the list due to a foot injury that caused him to miss the last league match against Ismailia Electricity.
The team manager revealed that Angolan Chico Banza and Tunisian Seifeddine Jaziri will remain sidelined due to colds. Omar Gaber also continues to miss the match due to a partial tear of the medial collateral ligament in his knee. Meanwhile, Mohamed El-Sayed and Ahmed Abdel-Rahim “Esho” have recovered and joined the squad traveling to Zambia.
The Zamalek first football team delegation will leave Cairo at 2:30 AM, heading to Zambia, in preparation for the Zesco match.
