London, England – Liverpool manager Arne Slot confirmed his delight at Mohamed Salah’s imminent return to the team after his participation with the Egyptian national team.
Egypt is scheduled to face Nigeria at 6:00 PM tomorrow, Saturday, at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco. This match is part of the third-place playoff for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Slot said in a press conference for the Burnley match: “Mohamed Salah will first play an important match with the Egyptian national team on Saturday, then he will return to us, and I am very happy about his return”.
The Dutch coach added, “Salah is a very important player for this club and for me personally, and even if I had 15 strikers I would be happy with his return, but he is truly an irreplaceable element”.
Slot spoke about his team’s ambitions for the next stage, emphasizing that the goal is not limited to an unbeaten run. He said, “Our goal is not to reach 11 matches without a loss, but rather to achieve 11 wins, and that is what we are striving for”.
He pointed out that the team still needs to improve, explaining: “There is a lot of room for improvement, and qualifying for the Champions League next season is a significant challenge for us”.
He continued, “We are currently competing for fourth place, and we still have a lot to offer in the Premier League”.
Slott concluded his remarks by saying, “We understand the importance of qualifying for the Champions League for this club, especially with the strength of the competition this season, in addition to continuing our journey in the FA Cup and the Champions League”.
