Round-up of the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations: 11 wins and one draw

Rabat, Morocco – The first round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, currently being held in Morocco, concluded yesterday, Wednesday, with the participation of 24 national teams.

The Kingdom of Morocco is hosting the tournament competitions during the current period, and they will continue until January 18th.

The first round of matches saw 11 teams achieve victory, while one match ended in a draw, and 11 teams suffered defeat.

The first round matches had a remarkable attacking character, as they witnessed the scoring of 29 goals. The Tunisia-Uganda match was the most prominent in terms of goals, after the “Eagles of Carthage” team prevailed by three goals to one.

The match between Burkina Faso and Equatorial Guinea also saw the first expulsion in the Africa Cup of Nations, which was given to Basilio Ndong, a player for the “National Thunder” team.
