Rabat, Morocco – The Cameroon national team concluded the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, after achieving a valuable victory over their Gabonese counterparts with a score of 1-0, in the match that took place on Wednesday evening.

The Cameroon and Gabon national teams met at the Adrar Stadium, in the final match of the first round of the group stage of the continental championship.

The match began with a clear advantage for the Cameroonian team, who succeeded in scoring an early goal in the seventh minute through Eta Eyong.

The goal came after a perfectly executed through ball from Brian Mbuemo put the striker in front of the goal, and he shot the ball between the goalkeeper’s legs.

Gabon responded in the 19th minute with a powerful shot from Anthony Oyono, but Cameroon goalkeeper Davies Ebasey made a solid save.

At the start of the second half, specifically in the 50th minute, Mbuyomo passed a through ball to Junior Chamadio, who shot a powerful ball from inside the penalty area, but it went over the crossbar.

Gabon gradually began to push forward in search of an equalizer. In the 61st minute, Denis Bouanga had a dangerous attempt, unleashing a powerful shot after a penetrating run, but it sailed over the crossbar.

Ten minutes later, Gabon’s striker, Openda, found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but Ebassi made another brilliant save, deflecting the ball for a corner kick and preserving his team’s lead.

Gabon’s attempts continued until the final minutes of the match, but without success. The game ended with a 1-0 victory for the “Indomitable Lions”.

With this victory, Cameroon earned their first three points in the tournament, topping Group F. Gabon remains without any points.
