Spain, Madrid – Manchester City secured a valuable 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in their Champions League match on Wednesday.
Manchester City visited Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, as part of the sixth round of the Champions League group stage.
The match started strongly for Real Madrid, and Vinicius almost caused a penalty kick early in the third minute.
But the foul occurred on the edge of the penalty area, and VAR confirmed the referee’s decision.
In the seventh minute, Real Madrid threatened Manchester City’s goal. A low cross from Rodrygo was met by Vinicius, who attempted to chip the ball over goalkeeper Donnarumma, but it went just wide of the post.
Rodrygo succeeded in scoring the opening goal for Real Madrid in the 28th minute, after a powerful shot to the right of Donnarumma from inside the penalty area.

With that result, Manchester City raised its tally to 13 points in fourth place, while Real Madrid came in seventh place with 12 points.
