Doha, Qatar – Morocco qualified for the quarterfinals of the Arab Cup after defeating Saudi Arabia in their match on Monday evening. This was part of the third and final round of the group stage of the Arab Cup.

The match began energetically from both sides, with Morocco showing a clear advantage. Saleh Abou Chamat missed a clear scoring opportunity for Saudi Arabia in the fifth minute, heading the ball from close range against the post.
Morocco took the lead in the 11th minute, after a pass from Tariq Tissoudali, which Karim Barkaoui met with a shot that found the back of the net.

The referee awarded a penalty kick to the Saudi national team in the 65th minute, after a strong tackle by a Moroccan player on Abdullah Al-Hamdan.
But Abdullah Al-Hamdan missed the penalty kick after shooting over the crossbar.
Ayman Yahya wasted a goal opportunity for “Al-Akhdar” in the 89th minute, after a shot from inside the penalty area went just wide of the post.
The match remained a back-and-forth affair between the two teams, but without any new goals being scored, ending with the Atlas Lions winning by one goal to nil, and thus qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup.
Thus, the Moroccan and Saudi Arabian national teams qualify from Group B of the Arab Cup to the quarter-finals.
