Doha, Qatar – The Palestinian national team forced a 2-2 draw against Tunisia in their match this evening, Thursday, as part of the 2025 Arab Cup.

The Palestinian national team met Tunisia at Lusail Stadium in Qatar, as part of the second round of Group A matches in the Arab Cup group stage.

The match started well for Tunisia, who scored an early goal in the 16th minute through Omar Ayouni. The goal came after he followed up a corner kick with a shot that found the back of the net.

In the 36th minute, Mohammed Saleh almost scored the equalizer for the Palestinian national team after he missed a ball in front of the goal.

The first half continued to witness an exchange of attacks between the two teams, amidst a waste of a number of opportunities that were not translated into goals.

In the second half, Tunisia extended their lead in the 51st minute. This came after a mistake by a Palestinian defender, which Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane capitalized on. He then delivered a brilliant pass to Firas Chaouat, who slotted the ball into the empty net.

Ten minutes after Tunisia’s goal, Hamed Hamdan unleashed a rocket shot that found the back of the net, narrowing the gap for the Palestinian team.

The Palestinian team did not give up, but kept trying until Zaid Qanbar snatched the equalizer in the 85th minute. This came after a rocket shot from inside the penalty area that nestled in the net.

The match remained a back-and-forth affair between the two teams, but without any further goals being scored, ending in a positive draw with a score of (2-2).

With that result, the Palestinian national team raised its tally to 4 points, temporarily occupying the top spot in the first group of the Arab Cup.

Meanwhile, the Tunisian national team came in third place with one point.

This comes at a time when the Syrian national team will meet Qatar in the same group, as part of the second round of the Arab Cup.
