Cairo, Egypt – Egypt’s second national team announced on Thursday that Karim Fouad suffered a severe knee contusion, ahead of their match against the UAE in the 2025 Arab Cup.
The Egyptian national team explained in a statement that Karim Fouad suffered an injury during the team’s training yesterday, which was a bruise on his knee, and as a result, Dr. Ayman Zein, the team’s doctor, performed first aid.
The player also went this morning, accompanied by the national team doctor, to Aspetar Hospital to undergo the necessary examinations and scans.
Dr. Ayman Zein announced that the results of the X-rays proved that the player suffered a sprain in the medial collateral ligament of the right knee, in addition to a sprain in the cruciate ligament patch.
Zain explained that the condition requires conservative treatment for a period ranging between four and six weeks, while emphasizing full coordination with the medical staff of Al-Ahly Club regarding the follow-up of the treatment program.

Egypt and the UAE are in Group C of the Arab Cup, along with Kuwait and Jordan.
Egypt’s national team had started its journey in the Arab Cup with a draw against Kuwait with a score of (1-1), while the UAE national team lost to Jordan with a score of (2-1).
