Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Jazira snatched a valuable victory from their hosts Al Wasl with a score of 2-1. This came in the match that brought them together on Sunday evening, in the UAE Pro League competition.
Al Jazira visited Al Wahda at Zabeel Stadium. This match was part of the quarter-finals of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank League Cup.
The match started strongly for both teams. The referee awarded Al Wasl a penalty in the eighth minute of the first half after consulting VAR.
Portuguese star Pedro Malehro scored the opening goal for Al Wasl in the tenth minute, after successfully executing a penalty kick.
Al Jazira responded quickly with an equalizer in the 11th minute, after a brilliant shot by Vinicius Melo found the back of the net.
Al Jazeera added a second goal through Egyptian Ibrahim Adel in the 15th minute, but it was disallowed for offside.
