Cairo, Egypt – The Austrian under-17 team knocked out their Italian counterparts from the World Cup semi-finals, after defeating them with a score of (2-0).
Austria and Italy met this evening at Stadium No. (5) in the Aspire Zone of Qatar, as part of the semi-finals of the Under-17 World Cup.
Austria took the lead with the first goal in the 57th minute, through Johannes Moser, after a pass from Werner, which he received and then shot into the net.
In the 68th minute, the referee awarded a penalty kick to Austria, before consulting the video technology, ordering play to resume and canceling the penalty kick.
Moser secured Austria’s second goal in the 90+3 minute, with a powerful shot from a direct free kick that found the back of the net.
With that result, Austria secured a place in the final of the Under-17 World Cup, and awaits the winner of the match between Portugal and Brazil, which is currently being played in the second half.
