The first football team of Al-Ahly Club of Egypt achieved a great victory over its guest, JS Kabylie of Algeria, with a score of (4-1) in the African Champions League.
Al Ahly met with JS Kabylie of Algeria at Cairo International Stadium, in the first round of the group stage of the African Champions League.
Al Ahly completely dominated the match, creating numerous clear-cut chances that could have doubled their lead. Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet also saw his shot hit the crossbar in the second half. Trezeguet opened the scoring for Al Ahly in the 37th minute, heading home a corner from Ahmed Sayed Zizo.
Al Ahly opened the way to JS Kabylie’s goal. Less than two minutes after Trezeguet’s goal, the ball reached Ashraf Bencharki, who advanced from the right side and delivered a perfect cross that Mohamed Sherif met with the inside of his foot directly into the goal, giving Al Ahly their second goal in the 39th minute.
Trezeguet almost scored the third goal in the 43rd minute with a shot from inside the penalty area, but the goalkeeper made the save, and then a header from Mohamed Sherif went over the crossbar.
The final minutes passed quickly until the Tunisian referee, Mahrez Al-Maliki, blew the whistle to end the first half with Al-Ahly leading 2-0.
Al Ahly continued their dominance in the second half
In the second half, Al-Ahly entered the second half with the same style of play, continuing their control and attacks, while making good use of the empty spaces behind the defenses of the JS Kabylie team, resulting in numerous corner kicks and scoring opportunities.
In the 53rd minute, the crossbar prevented the third goal scored by Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet when he received the ball, entered and shot powerfully, only for it to bounce off the crossbar.
In the 57th minute, from an Algerian attack on the right side, the ball was crossed, Yasser Ibrahim intervened, and the ball passed and surprised Mohamed El Shenawy, touching his foot and settling into the net with an own goal and without any intervention from the JS Kabylie players.
Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet returned in the 84th minute to extend Al Ahly’s lead, scoring his second goal of the match and Al Ahly’s third. The goal came after a shot from Emam Ashour deflected off Taher Mohamed Taher and fell to Trezeguet, who fired the ball into the net.
In stoppage time, Imam Ashour, returning after an absence, practiced his hobby of scoring goals with a shot from the edge of the penalty area, giving Al-Ahly their fourth goal.
After the fourth goal, the referee blows the final whistle, with Al-Ahly winning 4-1.
With that result, Al Ahly earned their first three points in the group, while JS Kabylie remained without any points.
