Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Ain achieved a thrilling victory over their host Sharjah, with three goals to one, in the match that brought them together today in the UAE Professional League Cup.
Al Ain visited Sharjah at the latter’s stadium, as part of the quarter-finals of the UAE Pro League Championship (Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup).
Al Ain took the lead with the first goal in the 20th minute, through Al-Hussain Rahimi, after a cross from Rodriguez on the left side, which he met with a header that found the back of the net.
Al-Hussain Rahimi returned in the 26th minute to score the second goal for Al-Ain after a short shot from in front of the goal that found the back of the net.
Sharjah player Igor fired a rocket shot in the 46th minute, just before the end of the first half, which hit the crossbar and went to Al Ain’s defense.
Igor returned in the 88th minute of the second half to score the first and only goal for his team, Sharjah, after a rocket shot into the net.
Palacios succeeded in strengthening the lead for the leader in the 90+9 minute, after a shot from a free kick that found the back of the net.
