Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Egyptian national team, led by Hossam Hassan, lost to their Uzbek counterparts by two goals to nil in the match that took place on Friday evening in the Al Ain friendly tournament, which is being hosted by the United Arab Emirates.
Egypt’s national team met Uzbekistan at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the semi-finals of the Al Ain friendly tournament.
The Uzbekistan national team started the match strongly and showed a marked superiority over the Egyptian national team, surprising the Pharaohs with an early goal in the fourth minute of the first half.
The goal came from Oronov when he dribbled past the Pharaohs’ defense and shot a ball into the net.
The Uzbek players continued to pressure the Pharaohs, as Urunov almost scored the second goal in the 14th minute after he was completely alone in front of the goal, before his shot hit the crossbar and was cleared by the Egyptian defense.
In the 17th minute, another shot from the Uzbek team, this time by player Shomurodov, almost found the net, but Mohamed Sobhi made the save.
The match remained dangerous from the Uzbek team, particularly the duo of Urunov and Shomurodov.
Urunov succeeded in scoring the second goal for the Uzbek national team in the 43rd minute, before the end of the first half, after dribbling past Mohamed Sobhi, the Pharaohs’ goalkeeper, and then shooting the ball into the net.
The Egyptian national team then tried to come back, but without scoring any goals amidst the superiority of the visitors, and the match ended with the Pharaohs losing by two goals to nil.
