Cairo, Egypt – The curtain has fallen on the fourth round of matches in the Champions League group stage, which began on Tuesday evening and ended yesterday, Wednesday, and witnessed surprising and exciting results.

Yesterday, Wednesday, saw the holding of 9 matches at the conclusion of the fourth round of the league stage, perhaps the most prominent of which were the matches between Inter Milan and Caerat, Club Brugge and Barcelona, ​​Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund, Benfica and Bayer Leverkusen, Marseille and Atalanta, Ajax and Galatasaray, and Newcastle and Athletic Bilbao.

Key Champions League matches

Inter vs. Cairat match

Inter Milan achieved a valuable victory over Kairat Almaty by two goals to one, in the match that took place at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

Lautaro Martinez gave Inter Milan the lead in the 45th minute, before Overy Arad equalized in the 56th minute.

Carlos Augusto added Inter Milan’s second goal in the 67th minute of the match, securing three valuable points for the Nerazzurri.

The win raised Inter’s tally to 12 points, placing them third in the standings, while Kairat came in 34th place with one point.

Marseille vs Atalanta match

Marseille fell into the trap of defeat against Atalanta, losing by a single goal in the match that brought them together at the Velodrome stadium.

Lazar Samardzic scored the only goal of the match for Atalanta in the 90+2 minute.

The win lifted Atalanta to 7 points and 16th place in the Champions League standings, while Marseille remained on 3 points in 25th place.

Newcastle vs Athletic Bilbao match

Newcastle managed to achieve a 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the match that took place at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle United’s Dan Burn and Joelaniton de Lira scored in the 11th and 49th minutes respectively.

The win lifted Newcastle to 9 points in sixth place, while Athletic Bilbao came in 27th with 3 points.

Ajax vs. Galatasaray match

Ajax lost to Galatasaray by a score of (3-0), in the match that took place at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.

Galatasaray’s three goals came from Victor Osimhen in the 59th, 66th and 78th minutes.

Galatasaray’s tally reached 9 points, settling in ninth place, while Ajax remained without points at the bottom of the standings.
