Al Ahly’s first football team qualified for the group stage of the CAF Champions League after defeating Aigle Noir 1-0.
The first leg between the two teams ended in a 1-0 victory for Al Ahly, allowing the Red Devils to advance to the group stage with a 2-0 aggregate score.
In the 15th minute of the first half, the referee showed a straight red card to Al Ahly’s Slovenian striker, Gradisar, for elbowing a Burundian player. Al Ahly had to play the remaining match with 10 players.
Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed scored the winning goal for Al Ahly in the 58th minute of the first half, following a precise pass from Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, who received the ball and fired it into the net.
Aigle Noir then tried to equalize, but to no avail. Al Ahly won the match 1-0, qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
