Cairo, Egypt – Liverpool player Mohamed Salah reacted angrily after being substituted during his team’s Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Liverpool secured a crushing 5-1 victory over German side Eintracht Frankfurt in the third round of the Champions League on Wednesday.
Mohamed Salah started the Liverpool vs. Eintracht Frankfurt match on the bench before coming on in the 74th minute to replace Hugo Ekitike.

In an angry move, Egypt national team captain Mohamed Salah deleted the photo of himself in a Liverpool shirt and the description “Liverpool player” from his X (formerly Twitter) account, and posted a profile picture of himself with his two daughters, Mecca and Kayan.
Arne Slot’s comment on why Salah was excluded from the starting lineup
Liverpool manager Arne Slot commented on Salah’s exclusion from the starting lineup. He told the Daily Mail: “It’s always difficult to exclude Mohamed Salah from the Liverpool starting lineup, but for other players it’s even more difficult.”
He added, “We have to restructure the team, so I decided to start with this formation. There are those who can make an impact even from the bench.”
The victory raised Liverpool’s score to 6 points, placing them in 10th place in the Champions League standings, while Frankfurt’s score remained at 3 points, in 22nd place.
