The Zayed Charity Race kicks off tomorrow, Sunday, in Rio de Janeiro.

The race's routes range from 5 to 10 km, and the accompanying interactive events and activities reflect the significant interest the race has garnered from the Brazilian community and national and international media.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The Zayed Charity Run will kick off its second international stop tomorrow, Sunday, October 5. Held for the first time in South America, the race will be in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is part of the 2025-2026 season, with thousands of runners participating. Runners have come from within Brazil and abroad. In addition, there are approximately 200 Emirati runners.

Preparations and arrangements

The Higher Organizing Committee of the Zayed Charity Race announced the completion of all preparations and arrangements. They ensured the highest levels of readiness for the launch of this charitable and humanitarian sporting event. This reflects the immortal legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul in peace. The race embodies his message of giving and solidarity among peoples.

The race tracks range from 5 to 10 km, and there are also interactive activities and events accompanying the event. This reflects the significant interest the Zayed Charity Race has garnered from the Brazilian community and national and international media.

The race saw the participation of more than 250 international delegations. They came from around the world in a sporting and humanitarian atmosphere. This atmosphere embodies the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul. His messages of giving and human unity were present.

Allocating race proceeds

Proceeds from the Rio race will go to the Rio Solidario Foundation, one of Brazil’s leading non-profit organizations. The foundation supports children, women, and families in need. It provides opportunities for social inclusion. This aligns with the Zayed Charity Race’s global mission to transform sports into a platform for creating hope. Moreover, it aims to make a direct impact on people’s lives.

The race’s hosting in Rio de Janeiro marks a pivotal milestone in its global journey. Launched in Abu Dhabi in 2001, it has now reached continents around the world. The event brings together tens of thousands of people under the umbrella of sport and charitable work. The “World’s Greatest Aid Race” remains a revitalized symbol of the humanitarian legacy left by the late Sheikh Zayed. This legacy is passed down from generation to generation.

The Zayed Charity Race for the 2025-2026 season is supported by the Emirates Red Crescent, the Al Habtoor Group, and Norinco. This partnership reflects their shared commitment to continuing to promote the legacy of the Founding Father. They aim to spread this legacy through the Zayed Charity Race.
