Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Turkmen fighter Basir Saraliyev won the main fight title in the 63rd International Edition of the Emirates Warriors Mixed Martial Arts Championship Series.
It concluded yesterday at the Adenik National Exhibition Center in Al Ain, and witnessed the holding of 12 fights in which 24 fighters participated.
Saraliev was able to win the title after defeating Serbian Yevgeny Morozov in an exciting 79 kg fight, by decision of the referees.
The joint main fight also witnessed a clear superiority of fighter Alex Da Silva over Russian Gurbanali Isabikov by knockout in the 72 kg weight category.
The competitions were attended by His Excellency Saleh Al Jaziri, Director General of Tourism at the Department of Tourism and Culture – Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Arif Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Chris Brown, President of the International Federation of Mixed Martial Arts, and Fouad Darwish, CEO of Palms Sports Company and Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
In the rest of the fights, Russian Nagmoid Sedov defeated Brazilian Valmir Da Silva by referee’s decision, while Egyptian Flopater Fares achieved victory over Filipino Alex Asio Junior by technical knockout in the first round.
In the women’s fight, Filipino Sarah Mahmoud defeated Turkish Knorr Kurt in the flyweight category.
For his part, Turkmen champion Basir Saraliyev expressed his happiness at winning the main match title.
He stressed that the competition was not easy against a big opponent who had previously achieved many accomplishments.
For his part, Fouad Darwish confirmed that the international edition hosted by Al Ain achieved exceptional success.
He pointed out that the large audience attendance gave the tournament its status as one of the most important international sporting events hosted by the UAE.
