Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Sharjah Women’s Sports Team opens its campaign in the 26th edition of the Arab Women’s Basketball Championship. This is called the “Arab Tiger Championship”.
This will be done by meeting the Kuwaiti Al-Fatat team. The event will be held in Medina, Saudi Arabia, from September 10 to 19.
The tournament draw was held on Sunday remotely via video communication technology, under the supervision of the Arab Basketball Federation.
It resulted in the seven participating teams being distributed according to a single-round league system. Each team will play 6 matches.
The clubs are ranked from first to seventh.
After the end of the first round matches, the leading team meets the second-place team. This will determine the edition champion, gold medalist, and runner-up.
The third will meet the fourth to determine the bronze medal winner.
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club is participating in the tournament as a representative of Emirati basketball.
This was in his capacity as league and cup champion last season.
In addition to the teams of Al-Fuhais of Jordan, the title holder, Al-Ula of Saudi Arabia, Al-Fatah, and Al-Qurain of Kuwait, there are other participants. These include Al-Hala of Bahrain and Kosidar of Algeria.
