Washington, DC – US reports have revealed plans under consideration to deploy a small nuclear reactor on the moon. This move aims to provide a sustainable energy source to support long-term space missions and planned scientific activities in the coming years.

According to sources, the project is part of a broader vision to enhance the human presence on the moon. This is particularly important in regions that lack sunlight for extended periods. In such cases, relying solely on solar power is insufficient to operate bases and advanced scientific equipment.

The proposed nuclear reactor is expected to power communications systems and support research experiments. It will also provide the energy needed for exploration activities. It is emphasized that the proposed designs adhere to stringent safety standards to minimize environmental and technical risks.

Experts believe this move reflects escalating international competition in space. Washington seeks to secure long-term strategic superiority. This comes amid similar plans being discussed by other space powers, potentially ushering in a new phase of the extraterrestrial power struggle.
