Voice of the Emirates – Mustafa Suleiman, Microsoft’s Regional Managing Director, affirmed that the company is working to develop artificial intelligence technologies in a way that serves humanity and enhances its capabilities. This is being done without artificial intelligence reaching a stage where it surpasses the human mind or becomes a substitute for humans in making sensitive decisions.

In a media interview, Suleiman explained that Microsoft’s main goal is to build intelligent systems that help people in their work and daily lives. This is achieved by accelerating processes, improving efficiency, and increasing productivity, while strictly adhering to ethical and safety standards.

He added that the company considers a balance between technological innovation and human capability to be vital. This is to ensure that artificial intelligence is a help, not a threat.

Suleiman noted that Microsoft is focusing on artificial intelligence applications in education, healthcare, business, and productivity. This allows individuals to benefit from advanced technologies that help them make accurate decisions, saving time and effort while reducing human error.

He emphasized that security, transparency, and clarity in the design of smart systems are among the company’s top priorities. This is to avoid any potential negative impact on users and society.

He added that developing artificial intelligence is not limited to the technological aspect alone. It also involves social and ethical responsibility, through establishing clear frameworks for data handling and privacy protection, as well as ensuring that artificial intelligence is not used in ways that could harm individuals or society.

Suleiman concluded by saying: “Artificial intelligence should always serve humanity, not compete with it. Our vision at Microsoft is to enhance human capabilities, not replace them, while adhering to the highest standards of technological responsibility.”
