Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) condemned the recent Iranian attacks, describing them as a “blatant and clear violation” of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its member states. It warned against any escalation that could threaten the security and stability of the region.
In an official statement, the Council stressed the need for restraint from all parties. It also emphasized the importance of reaching urgent solutions through diplomatic means to prevent the crisis from worsening. The Council called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take immediate steps to halt the hostilities. It further demanded the protection of navigation and airspace in the Gulf region from any future threats.
The Council noted that the security of the Gulf states is an integral part of regional and international security. It clarified that any aggression against these states will not go unpunished. The Council affirmed that military and diplomatic cooperation among its member states will continue to strengthen collective security and confront any external threats.
The Gulf Cooperation Council holds Iran responsible for the attacks and calls on the international community to take immediate action.
