Islamabad, Pakistan – Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, announced that an Iranian delegation would arrive in Islamabad on Thursday evening. This comes in preparation for talks with the United States, following the announcement of a ceasefire between the two sides. The ambassador confirmed that these talks would begin on Friday. The goal is to reach a long-term agreement.
Amiri-Moghaddam explained in a post on the X platform that “the Iranian delegation will hold serious talks based on the ten points proposed by Iran.” However, skepticism persists among the Iranian public due to repeated ceasefire violations by the Israeli regime.
Pakistani authorities declared Thursday and Friday official holidays in Islamabad. This move is in preparation for hosting the diplomatic events. Essential services such as the police, hospitals, and electricity and gas companies will remain open.
The White House confirmed that US Vice President Jay D. Vance has been tasked with overseeing the negotiations over the weekend. This is part of efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement aimed at de-escalating regional tensions and promoting stability.
