Beirut, Lebanon – Hezbollah issued its first official statement following the announcement of Mojtaba Khamenei’s appointment to a leadership position within the Iranian ruling establishment, asserting that the move represents a “shocking message” in the face of what it described as American hegemonic policies in the region.
In a statement, the party said that the recent developments in Tehran reflect the continuation of what it called the “resistance approach,” adding that the coming period will witness an escalation in confronting international pressure and military threats targeting Iran and its allies in the Middle East.
The statement added that what it called the “axis of resistance” possesses the capability to “break America’s arrogance,” emphasizing that any attempts to impose a new political or military reality in the region will be met with a strong response from the forces allied with Iran.
Hezbollah indicated that these developments are occurring at a time of unprecedented tensions in the region, with escalating military confrontations and political pressures, affirming that what it called the “axis of resistance” will continue to defend its strategic interests.
These statements come amidst escalating tensions between Iran and the United States and its allies, and growing fears of a wider conflict in the Middle East, especially with the continuation of military operations and the exchange of threats between the various parties in the region.
