The American position and field movements
For its part, the US Forces Korea (USFK) adopted a cautious stance, stating:
“For operational security reasons, we do not comment on the movement, repositioning, or transfer of specific military capabilities or assets.”
However, government sources have observed the arrival of large US military transport aircraft (C-5s and C-17s) at Osan Air Base. This reinforces the hypothesis that Patriot missile systems are being prepared for redeployment to the Middle East to counter Iranian missile threats.
Conflict context: Operation “Epic Wrath”
The joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran entered their seventh day, part of a military campaign dubbed “Operation Epic Fury” by President Donald Trump.
The campaign aims to cripple Tehran’s nuclear capabilities, destroy its ballistic missile arsenal, and degrade its allied militias.
The US president has expressed his openness to accepting any military or logistical support from allied nations in this conflict.
