Muscat, Oman – The Omani Foreign Minister reiterated his call for an immediate ceasefire and a return to the diplomatic track to address escalating tensions in the region. He emphasized that political solutions remain the best option to avoid further escalation.

Highlights
  • Emphasis on the priority of de-escalation
  • Supporting diplomatic efforts
  • Warning of humanitarian and security repercussions

Emphasis on the priority of de-escalation

The minister stressed the urgent need for de-escalation, warning that continued military operations would have serious repercussions for regional security and stability. He also stated that the Sultanate of Oman is following developments with great concern and believes that direct dialogue is the only way to overcome the current crises.

Supporting diplomatic efforts

He noted that his country supports all international and regional efforts aimed at bringing the parties back to the negotiating table. He also emphasized the importance of building trust among the various stakeholders to prevent the region from sliding into a wider confrontation. He affirmed that Oman continues its contacts with regional and international partners to bridge the gaps in viewpoints, based on its consistent approach of mediation and peaceful solutions.

Warning of humanitarian and security repercussions

The minister explained that the continuation of the conflict would exacerbate the humanitarian and economic burdens, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in supporting de-escalation efforts. He also stressed that regional stability requires urgent action that restores the credibility of diplomacy and prioritizes sustainable political solutions.
