Tehran, Iran – Iranian official Abbas Araqchi confirmed that the government has no plans to carry out any executions against protesters involved in the recent demonstrations. He also denied the existence of any official plan to do so.
Araqchi explained that the authorities are working to address the situation within the usual legal and judicial framework. He also emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining order and security without resorting to harsh measures against peaceful protesters.
He indicated that dialogue and finding peaceful solutions are a priority. Furthermore, he affirmed the government’s commitment to freedom of expression and human rights, in an effort to avoid any escalation that could harm internal stability.
This confirmation comes amidst ongoing, albeit limited, protests in some Iranian cities. Simultaneously, there is international monitoring of the government’s human rights record, reflecting the authorities’ desire to de-escalate the situation without resorting to extreme measures.
