Tel Aviv, Israel – Israel’s Channel 12 reported on Saturday that thousands of Israelis received anonymous text messages. The messages read, “We are coming… Look to the sky at night.”

Many Israelis received these text messages on their phones amid heightened tensions between Tel Aviv and Tehran.

Israeli media outlets published screenshots of messages received by Israelis on their phones. These messages included a phone number beginning with “+44,” the international dialing code for the United Kingdom.

Tensions between Israel and Iran are escalating. Cyberattacks are part of the ongoing conflict between the two sides.

This message comes amid ongoing and escalating protests that have been ongoing since the end of December 2025.

The protests initially erupted as a response to the severe economic crisis and the plummeting value of the Iranian currency (the rial).

They quickly escalated into riots in several cities, leading to clashes with security forces. Additionally, they adopted anti-regime political slogans.

On January 8, the country witnessed calls for renewed demonstrations following a call from Reza Pahlavi, the son of the deposed Shah.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council accused the United States and Israel of “orchestrating the riots” in the country. This accusation was an attempt to portray the internal protests as foreign-led.
