Tehran, Iran – Senior Iranian leaders responded to threats by US President Donald Trump to intervene in what he described as “saving the protesters” in Iran,

Highlights
  • Adventurous tweets
  • Deteriorating economic conditions

She warned that any US interference in Iranian internal affairs

would have serious repercussions for the security and stability of the region.

Ali Larijani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council,

said that what was being done behind the scenes has now been exposed.

This is in reference to the American stance towards the ongoing protests.

Larijani wrote in a post on the “X” platform that Tehran distinguishes

between the protests of merchants and shop owners, and what he described

as the actions of “saboteur elements”,

He stressed that the US president must realize that any US intervention in this internal matter

This will destabilize the entire region and cause serious damage to American interests.

Adventurous tweets

In the same context, Ali Shamkhani, the political advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader,

confirmed on Friday that Iranian national security is a “red line”.

It cannot be the subject of what he described as “adventurous tweets”.

Shamkhani said in a tweet on the “X” platform that any hand that reaches out to Iran’s security

under the pretext of interference or adventurism will face a harsh response.

It will be cut off before it arrives, he noted, adding that the Iranian people

are well aware of the results of what he called “American rescue experiments” from Iraq and Afghanistan to Gaza.

These statements came in response to a comment by US President Donald Trump

regarding the protests taking place in Iran.

Deteriorating economic conditions

Which erupted in the capital Tehran and a number of other cities since last Sunday.

It started in the markets after shop owners closed their stores in protest

against the deteriorating economic conditions and the rising cost of living.

Trump had written in a post on the Truth Social platform, threatening Tehran that if Iran fires

Regarding the peaceful protesters and those who were violently killed,

the United States “will intervene to rescue them.”

He asserted that his country was “fully prepared,” a statement

that sparked angry reactions within Iranian political circles.
