Sana’a, Yemen – The Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance held an expanded consultative meeting in the city of Seiyun on Wednesday, which included officials, tribal leaders, sheikhs, and dignitaries.
This is with the aim of unifying positions regarding current developments and issues in Hadramawt.
The meeting was attended by leaders of the Southern Transitional Council,
represented by Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, President of the National Assembly
and member of the Council’s Presidency.
And Engineer Hisham Al-Saidi, Assistant Undersecretary
for Valley and Desert Directorates Affairs.
Emphasis on local leadership and elite support
The head of the Hadhramaut Tribes Alliance, Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Kathiri, confirmed
The alliance’s firm stance is that the people of the province must take full control of its affairs.
Al-Kathiri stressed that “the people of Hadramawt are the ones
who will manage Hadramawt civilly, in terms of security and in the military.”
He stressed that “the wheel of time will not turn back,” and that the alliance
will continue to support the Hadrami elite and build their capabilities.
This is towards a fair Hadrami administration that serves everyone.
For his part, Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri praised the role of the people of Hadramawt,
He made an explicit call to rally behind the Southern Armed Forces
and the Hadrami Elite Forces to strengthen security and consolidate stability in the province.

Dialogue and recruitment
The meeting included clear calls and demands for internal unity and strengthening security forces.
The head of the alliance called for a comprehensive Hadrami dialogue
to formulate a “Hadramout roadmap” to unify the internal position.
He stressed that the Hadrami elite is the safety valve for the province.
Al-Kathiri called on the Arab coalition to open recruitment to
the sons of Hadhramaut and equip them in a manner befitting them.
Calling for adherence to the principle of local leadership.
The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude to the Hadrami elite
and the Southern Armed Forces.
He praised the efforts of the coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
and the United Arab Emirates.
