Beirut – Lebanon – The Lebanese authorities announced Thursday as a national day of mourning for civilians killed as a result of the recent Israeli shelling on various areas in Lebanon, in an incident that left dead and injured among women, children, and ordinary citizens.
The Lebanese government confirmed that the day of mourning will serve as an occasion to offer condolences to the victims’ families and express solidarity with all those affected, while calling on citizens to adhere to security measures and exercise caution in affected areas.
Official sources added that emergency and relief teams have immediately begun their work to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected and rehabilitate damaged infrastructure, amid warnings of possible continued tensions in some border areas.
This step comes at a time when the international community is expressing concern over escalating violence, emphasizing the need to protect civilians and adhere to international humanitarian laws.
