Mexico City, Mexico – Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that she is considering legal action against billionaire Elon Musk. This comes after she was accused of having ties to drug cartels in a post on the X platform.

  • Studying legal options

Controversial post

Musk’s comments came after Mexican authorities announced the arrest of Nemesio Osjera, the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, also known as “El Mencho.” Authorities also announced his death at the hands of security forces.

Musk wrote in his post that Sheinbaum “says what the cartel leaders tell her to say.” This remark sparked widespread controversy in Mexico.

Studying legal options

During a press conference, Sheinbaum stated that the government is considering legal action. She also indicated that a team of lawyers is currently reviewing the statements to assess possible steps.

There was no immediate comment from Musk regarding the Mexican president’s announcement that she is considering legal action against him. The case is expected to raise legal and political dimensions related to freedom of expression and the relationship between public figures and governments.

These developments come amidst an escalating confrontation between Mexican authorities and drug cartels, and international scrutiny of the country’s security situation.
