Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, received a phone call from Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. During which they discussed developments in the Middle East and efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.Stressing the two countries’ keenness to support all efforts and endeavors aimed at establishing regional security and stability.
The two sides stressed the importance of moving steadily towards the path of lasting, just and comprehensive peace, which is based on the “two-state solution” as the way to achieve stability in the region and build a better future for all its countries and peoples.
His Highness the President of the UAE stressed the priority of reaching an urgent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and continuing the flow of humanitarian relief aid in sufficient quantities to the Strip without obstacles to alleviate the suffering experienced by its residents.
During the call, His Highness appreciated the statements of His Excellency the British Prime Minister regarding Britain’s intention to recognize the Palestinian state.
His Highness and the British Prime Minister also discussed during the call. Paths of cooperation between the two countries in various fields and ways to enhance it to serve their mutual interests. Stressing their keenness to continue joint work and build on the historical relations between the UAE and the United Kingdom in a way that brings goodness and development to their peoples and supports the causes of security and peace in the region and the world.
