Brussels, Belgium – NATO has assessed that the attack targeting a train in Ukraine reflects a sense of desperation on Moscow’s part. This development occurs amidst ongoing military operations and escalating hostilities. The Alliance noted that the targeting of Ukraine’s infrastructure and transportation networks is part of a pattern of strikes aimed at damaging vital facilities. Furthermore, these strikes seek to increase pressure on the Ukrainian side.
NATO noted that developments on the ground confirm the ongoing tension between Russia and Ukraine, amidst continuing mutual attacks and the widening scope of military operations. At the same time, calls are mounting for a political path leading to a resolution of the conflict. The Alliance reaffirmed its continued support for Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of bolstering its capacity to withstand attacks, as well as the need to safeguard its security and critical infrastructure.
