Washington, DC – Israel ambassador to Washington said his country sees no need for France to participate in the ongoing negotiations with Lebanon.
He asserted that the United States alone is sufficient to provide support and mediation during the border dialogue between the two sides.
Relying solely on American mediation
The ambassador explained that Israel relies on American mediation in managing its negotiations with Lebanon.
He also stated that the involvement of additional parties, such as France,
is unnecessary at this stage, given the confidence in American diplomatic efforts.
He affirmed the ability of American diplomacy to achieve tangible results.
Focus on technical issues
The ambassador added that discussions with the Lebanese delegation focused primarily on the technical
and logistical aspects of the border, without the need for third-party intervention.
He emphasized that Israel goal is to reach clear understandings that protect national security and the state’s strategic interests.
Strengthening the diplomatic track
These statements come as dialogue sessions continue in Washington under the auspices of the US State Department.
The department continues its role as a neutral mediator to facilitate understanding between Lebanon and Israel.
It also ensures that the negotiations proceed within a balanced framework that supports regional stability and reduces any future tensions.
