Abu Dhabi – United Arab Emirates – Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a series of phone calls with several foreign ministers of friendly countries to discuss regional developments following Iranian missile attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates and other countries.
Intensive Diplomatic Contacts
The discussions included Helen McEntee, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defence of Ireland, Paulo Rangel, Foreign Minister of Portugal, and Arnoldo André Tinoco, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Costa Rica.
The calls addressed the latest regional developments amid ongoing tensions in the region.
Appreciation of International Solidarity
Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his appreciation for the supportive positions of friendly countries and their solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, affirming the safety of all residents and visitors in the country.
He also stressed the importance of international coordination to address current security challenges.
Support for Peace Efforts
The discussions also touched on Donald Trump’s announcement of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, emphasizing the need to leverage this opportunity to advance de-escalation efforts.
Both sides underscored the importance of global cooperation to achieve sustainable peace and support regional security and stability amid fast-moving developments.
