Tel Aviv, Israel – The Israeli military announced it has dismantled more than 4,300 Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon since the outbreak of fighting between the two sides on March 2. This was done as part of ongoing military operations inside Lebanese territory.
The army explained in a statement that five military divisions are continuing to carry out simultaneous,
targeted operations in various areas of southern Lebanon.
These operations include focused raids, the dismantling of military infrastructure, and the discovery of large quantities of weapons.
Large-scale field operations
The Israel military statement indicated that the 162nd and 36th Divisions
dismantled over 2,700 infrastructure sites and seized more than 250 weapons.
These weapons included long-range missiles, anti-tank missiles, RPG launchers, firearms, and explosive devices.
The statement also noted that the 91st, 98th, and 146th Divisions dismantled over 1,500 additional military sites
and recovered more than 1,000 various weapons, including small arms, military equipment, and ammunition.
Air support for ground operations
The Israel military confirmed it is continuing to conduct airstrikes, in coordination with ground forces,
targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.
This is being done to support its military advance and diminish the organization’s military capabilities.
These operations come amid Israeli efforts to establish what it calls a “security zone” by creating buffer zones in southern Lebanon.
This is an attempt to reduce the threat posed by Hezbollah on its northern border,
amid escalating regional tensions and ongoing military operations between the two sides.
