Manama، Bahrain – The Bahrain Defence Force announced on Thursday that air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 194 ballistic missiles and 515 drones since the beginning of Iranian attacks targeting the kingdom’s territory in recent days.
Interceptions Exceed 700 Aerial Targets
The Bahrain Defence Force stated in an official statement that the total number of intercepted aerial threats reflects the scale and severity of the escalation, noting that these attacks directly targeted vital facilities and civilian infrastructure within the country, necessitating the activation of air defense systems at high efficiency.
It confirmed that the Bahraini armed forces successfully thwarted these attacks and prevented significant losses, as part of ongoing defensive readiness to address any potential threats.
Official Condemnation of International Law Violations
The Bahrain Defence Force stressed that the use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilian facilities and private property constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter.
The statement added that these indiscriminate attacks not only threaten Bahrain but also pose a direct risk to regional security and stability amid escalating tensions.
Defensive Readiness and Continued Response
The General Command affirmed that the Bahraini armed forces will continue to maintain a high level of readiness and respond immediately to any aerial threats, ensuring the protection of the kingdom’s territory and the safety of its citizens and residents.
It also noted that air defense systems will continue to perform their duties efficiently under the current security conditions, reinforcing national stability and safeguarding security.
