Washington, DC – US President Donald Trump accused unnamed parties of being behind the release of what he called a “fake plan.” He asserted that its purpose was to discredit those involved in the peace efforts and to disrupt the ongoing diplomatic process.
Trump stated that the leaked document was unrelated to the actual negotiations and that it was a “deliberate attempt to mislead the public and sow discord among the parties.” This comes at a “sensitive” time, as the region is witnessing intensive political activity aimed at consolidating the ceasefire.
He explained that his administration is closely monitoring the source of the leak and emphasized that such actions could hinder progress and undermine mutual trust among the parties involved. This is particularly important given the prevailing atmosphere of anticipation in the region.
He added that the United States remains committed to supporting any genuine efforts leading to stability. He also stressed that “information warfare is no less dangerous than military confrontations,” referring to attempts to influence the course of negotiations through inaccurate leaks. Trump’s remarks come at a time of growing warnings about the fragility of the situation. In this context, any misinformation or ill-considered move could send things back to square one. Moreover, it could undermine the chances of reaching a lasting agreement.
