New York – United States
The United Nations warned the United States against carrying out strikes targeting Iranian infrastructure, stressing that such a move could lead to a broad and unpredictable escalation in the region, with serious implications for regional and international security.
A statement issued by the UN Security Council said that targeting vital facilities in Iran could violate international law and increase civilian suffering, warning that any military escalation could lead to a widespread humanitarian crisis and threaten global shipping and energy supplies.
Responding to the United Nations warnings, Donald Trump stated that he is “not concerned” about these warnings, emphasizing the right of the United States to protect its interests and national security, in a stance reflecting Washington’s readiness to take military action if necessary, regardless of potential regional consequences.
This escalation comes amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, with close international monitoring of developments. Analysts believe that open threats could lead to a new cycle of escalation that may extend to the Strait of Hormuz and other strategic areas, increasing risks to maritime security and global energy prices.
