Bangkok, Thailand – Amid a worsening energy crisis and unprecedented fuel price increases, the Prime Minister of Thailand has launched a comprehensive national plan to reduce electricity consumption across all sectors, from households to major factories and government institutions. The Prime Minister called on citizens to adopt energy-saving behaviors such as using high-efficiency electrical appliances, reducing unnecessary air conditioning and lighting usage, and relying on renewable energy sources whenever possible.
At the same time, the government confirmed the introduction of incentive programs for companies to upgrade industrial equipment and reduce waste. Strict regulations will also be imposed on energy consumption in both public and private buildings, alongside intensive awareness campaigns through the media and social media. The Prime Minister stated that the success of this plan will not only protect the power grid from outages but will also help reduce the national energy bill and support the Thai economy in facing global market pressures.
