Manama, Bahrain – The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force announced that since the start of the Iranian attacks, its air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed 186 missiles and 419 drones targeting the Kingdom’s territory.
A growing number of foiled attacks
The command explained in an official statement that the announced figures reflect
an increase in the frequency of attacks that were successfully thwarted.
This was achieved thanks to the high level of readiness of the air defense systems,
which dealt with repeated threats during the past period.
It also affirmed the continuation of monitoring and countering operations against any new attacks.
Violation of international law
The statement emphasized that the use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilian infrastructure
and private property constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter.
It asserted that these indiscriminate attacks pose a direct threat to regional peace and security.
Warning of regional repercussions
The General Command affirmed that the continuation of these attacks would escalate tensions in the region.
It noted that targeting civilian infrastructure exacerbates security risks and threatens stability.
At the same time, Bahrain continues to strengthen its defense capabilities
and take the necessary measures to protect its territory and population.
